SABA

In the very beginning of the stellar music video, ‘Time Zone,’ Saba puts you in a place of questioning complacency and staying in your comfort zone. Saba, is a very thought provoking artist, reminding us that seeing the same is never okay in the process of evolving into yourself. Visually him and his team create, in your current timezone, a visual spark to make you think. “17 living out a dream while these niggas want to sleep…” Upon making movements toward your place of completion of your vision, you will have the places in your current lifestyle that will have to either stay behind or evolve with your change. Wisdom comes from the minds of the old but the young are also holders of these key to life as well. Saba wants himself and those able to connect with him, to be able to expand the places of their minds that they normally do not tap into. “Are you down?” Saba want you to get out of your comfort zone and expand your reality and remember always….

Be There for Me

Mariam is a singer/songwriter and self taught guitarist hailing from South London. Described as ‘atmospheric soul’, her music is the perfect blend of soul, folk and pop with thought provoking lyrics.

Mariam has always had a strong passion for words, writing poetry and creative pieces at a young age. She was quick to understand that she had a natural gift to combine rhythmic melodies with meaningful words, an ability she credits to her Nigerian heritage. She adds “Nigerians are natural story tellers, it is an art that is passed down and learned within the family and community, hearing stories has been a prominent fixture in my life just as strong as music. Music is such a powerful way to tell stories and relate to others, and I love how words come together to paint pictures”.

In 2011, Mariam decided it was finally time to share her music with the world and introduce herself as a singer/songwriter. She got well acquainted with the underground scene and started playing open mic nights.  These experiences turned into opportunities and Mariam joined the ‘London Community Gospel Choir’ (who has supported artist such as Tom Jones, Sam Smith and more) and started working on original material with local artists (including British artist Samm Henshaw).

The soulful singer/songwriter is now proud and ready to share her debut EP; a mature piece of work full of vocal grit and depth. Mariam managed to find the right balance between vulnerability and strength without losing her unique soulful sound that is her own. Mariam adds ‘The EP was birthed out of a heart to heart that myself and the producer had on our first session. I shared about my disappointment of my initial EP not working out, the highs and lows of being a solo artist and just about life. This is my way of bringing everyone in on that conversation, it is the fruit of it and something I am proud to share.’ Her debut EP ‘Heart To Heart’ is now available on all digital platforms. ‘Rise Up’

Toronto-based Soul/Pop artist Liz Loughrey drops an inspiring visual for her new single ‘Rise Up’. With over 2 million views on her Youtube channel, Loughrey has managed to create a devoted and growing fanbase by winning their hearts with her soulful sound blended with uplifting lyrics. Greatly influenced by Etta James and Sade, Loughrey is a genuinely old soul who creates a brand of pop that speaks to the past and signals a bright future.

Written and produced in Miami by Liz Loughrey, Adrian X (The Weeknd, Drake, Kylie Minogue) and Supa Dups (Drake, Party Next Door, Mary J Blige) Rise Up! is a catchy and refreshing song which stands for positive change. It is a call to action that says it’s time to stop living a life of complacency or in the words of the song, it’s time for us to ‘take less and give a little more’. Loughrey adds ‘Rise Up! is more than a song, it’s a movement. The #RiseUpMovement is all about telling the stories of people who are positively impacting the world and encouraging people of all ages and walks of life to Rise Up in their communities. We turn on the news and are constantly bombarded with negativity and so it’s easy to feel powerless, but the #RiseUpMovement is spreading the message that we can do amazing things when we work together.. when we make LOVE our theme, and PEACE our goal’.

With that objective in mind, Liz Loughrey has created the Rise Up Workshops. She is currently visiting schools across the country to encourage youth to think outside the box and start making their own positive impact on their community. The stories collected throughout her workshops will be shared on her website. Anyone can take part in the movement by submitting their own story on Social Media using the #RiseUpMovement hashtag.

Rise Up! is the debut single taken from her upcoming EP which is set to be released sometime next year.
