Flatline

With the heavy saturation of mumble rap and fashion artist in the mass media many Hip Hop fans tend to believe the art of word play and storytelling has died with their generation, this is not true there is a creative wave of artist pushing the envelope and forwarding the art in a positive light. This video shows Jenkins as a drowning slave trying to escape his situation so he can breathe. Gypsy

 

The talented young Chicago rapper Noname Gypsy has unveiled a new single featuring SPZRKT titled “All I Need.” The song is coming from her upcoming project, Telefone planning to release later this year. Noname Gypsy probably sounds familiar if you’ve listened to any of Chance the Rappers releases from the past few years. The Chicago native keeps it pretty low key, but her unique voice and rhyming ability make her immediately recognizable on the track. SPZRKT contributes with a soulful hook that gels perfectly with the remarkably stealthy beat produced by a trio of Chicago producers Saba, THEM PEOPLE and Phoelix. The London-based Tanzanian artist Tiggs Da Author releases his latest uplifting energetic single “Run” featuring the magical Lady Leshurr. The 25 year old poet, rapper, singer, songwriter and producer is inspired by obscure 60s narrative film, East African Jazz and Motown. His resulting sound is very rare to say the least. In his latest track “Run” Tiggs explains escaping life’s troubles with a distinctively reminiscent style of a modern day Ray Charles. Encouraging listeners not to let life’s dramas bring you down and sometimes it’s better to just run! Tiggs is accompanied by the lovely Lady Leshurr who adds a warm vibe that makes you want to dance and sing along instantly.
